Pre-Primary Orientation

The school conducted an engaging and interactive Pre-Primary Parent Orientation Programme to familiarise parents with the learning environment, teaching methodologies, and developmental needs of our pre-primary learners. The session provided a meaningful platform for teachers and parents to connect, communicate, and understand how a strong partnership between home and school can support a child’s holistic development. The orientation included a range of fun and interactive activities that gave parents a glimpse into how learning takes place in the pre-primary classroom. Teachers shared the classroom teaching approaches used to make learning joyful, age-appropriate, and meaningful, while introducing parents to key foundational concepts such as phonics, early literacy, fine motor development, and gross motor development. Through practical demonstrations and engaging activities, parents experienced how seemingly simple classroom tasks can contribute to important developmental milestones. The session highlighted the role of fine motor activities in strengthening hand muscles and coordination, while gross motor activities support balance, movement, coordination, and physical development. The introduction to phonics-based learning also helped parents understand how children gradually develop sound recognition, pronunciation, and early reading skills. The interactive nature of the orientation encouraged parents to actively participate and gain a better understanding of the school’s approach to early childhood education. It was a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom practices and learning at home, empowering parents to reinforce these skills through simple and meaningful activities. The orientation concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the school’s belief that when teachers and parents work together, children receive the strongest foundation for a confident, joyful, and successful learning journey.
